3/18/2024 0 Comments Free mcboot esr patchIt either goes to a black screen & then returns to where I was, or just crashes & dies. When I have the disc I burned in the drive, it shows ‘invalid media’, but the larger problem is that not a single option on this screen does anything. I’m not sure exactly how, but somewhere along the line I must have installed something by accident because now I get a different looking screen upon startup – looks like it’s ESR r9b. It’s possible that was a little too advanced. My system doesn’t recognize the burned disc, so there is definitely a step I’m missing that would allow me to play burned DVD-R discs without any physical mods to my PS2. I’ve recently gotten motivated to try again, and I wanted to run a Colecovision emulator from a burned disc. I was able to get the SNES & SEGA emulators to work a little, but it was a struggle. A while back I just gave up after finding it just too unstable and difficult to use. According to a streamer that I follow, it is supposed to be a Windows program that patches ISOs so they will run on a PS2 with Free McBoot. No images available as I do not have a Mac set up. I bought one of those Free McBoot memory cards for my PS2 Slim with the goal of running a few retro console emulators. you do have to patch the games with esr disc patcher for esr to recognize it as a ps2. This thread caught my eye because if anyone could be described as a “noob” with this stuff, it’s me. Free McBoot/ESR + ULaunch + HDLoader + SMS (Homebrew CD) ESR Patch Needed.
